God's primary message communicated to us throughout the Bible is His LOVE for all people. When people turned their backs on God through the sin of Adam and Eve, God was deeply hurt. God wanted to restore His relationship with us so much that He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, into the world to defeat sin and evil by His sinless life, death on the cross and resurrection from the dead. Because of Jesus Christ's victory over sin and death, our sins can be forgiven and we can claim the gift of eternal life.
HOW DO YOU CLAIM THE GIFT OF ETERNAL LIFE?
Because eternal life is God's gift to us, He does not force it upon us. This gift can only be ours if we willingly accept it. God requires an individual response from each of us. God's Word, the Bible, shows us how to obtain eternal life.
GOD SHOW HIS LOVE
"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16 NIV
It is hard for us to believe that the God who created the entire universe wanted to restore His relationship with us so much that He offered up His only Son. Through the Son's terrible death on the cross, the forces of evil were defeated as the almighty God re-established the legal right to have us in fellowship with Him.
WE HAVE ALL SINNED
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:32 NIV
Because God is holy and perfectly good, not one of us can come close to His perfection. Since we all do things that we know are wrong, that is why we feel separated from God. Since all people have the stain of sin, no one can obtain right standing with God on his/her own.
THE ULTIMATE PRICE OF SIN
"For the wages of sin is death." Romans 6:23
Just as criminals must pay the penalty for their crimes, we as sinners must pay the penalty for our sins. If we continue to ignore God and sin, we will pay the penalty of spiritual death. We not only die physically but we will also be separated from our holy God for all eternity. Stop and think about this! We will be separated from God forever and ever with no hope of redemption. God's Word says the place for those who reject Him is called hell.
GOOD NEWS! SOMEONE HAS ALREADY PAID THE PENALTY FOR YOU!
"But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8
God teaches in the Bible that Jesus Christ, the sinless Son of God, has paid the penalty for all of our sins by His death on the cross. Satan drove an innocent Son of God to His death and thus was defeated, opening the door for us to return to God. Most people think they have to lead a good life and do good deeds in order for God to love them. The Bible says that Jesus loved us so much that He died for us even when we were rebelling against Him.
SALVATION IS FREE
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast." Ephesians 2:8-9
The word "GRACE" does not have to be confusing. Grace simply means "undeserved favor". God is offering us something that we could never obtain on our own. God says that salvation is a gift, which means that God wants to give salvation to us freely with no strings attached. Salvation is a gift, thus we do not have to work for it. We need only RECEIVE it and BELIEVE with all our hearts that Jesus died for us.
JESUS CHRIST IS RIGHT OUTSIDE THE DOOR TO YOUR HEART
"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me." Revelation 3:20
Jesus Christ, God the Son, wants a personal relationship with YOU! Think of your heart as a door and Jesus is right on the other side. So close! Invite Him in, open the door and receive Him into your heart and your life.
WHEN YOU INVITE HIM IN
"Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God." John 1:12
When you receive Jesus Christ, you become part of God's family. Just as a child belongs to his parents, so you now belong to God. God now has a very personal relationship with you that will last throughout all eternity.
